Prime Minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\"><strong>Dhaka Bureau:<\/strong> Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that despite various limitations, significant progress has been made in the health sector in the last 14 years. So far, more than 600 hospitals have been constructed in the country besides setting up 11 postgraduate &#8220;super specialty hospitals,&#8221; such as cardiovascular hospitals, thoracic hospitals, cancer hospitals, neuroscience hospitals, and other hospitals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The Prime Minister said this in a video message broadcast at the third scientific conference organized by the Bangladesh Cardiovascular Research Foundation at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on Friday (February 24).<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Stating that the government has made health care more affordable, the Prime Minister said that, besides providing health care to every doorstep, Bangladesh is becoming self-reliant in the treatment of heart disease. Bangladesh is now almost self-sufficient in the treatment of heart disease. There is 95 to 98 percent treatment capacity for heart disease, and for this purpose, the country has skilled manpower, modern technology, and necessary equipment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Sheikh Hasina said the death rate due to heart disease in Bangladesh is about 27 percent, where 10 children per thousand are suffering from heart disease and one in five youths are at risk of heart disease. Dietary habits, lack of physical exercise, smoking, and diabetes have increased the number of heart disease patients. Apart from improving medical facilities for heart patients, we need to focus on preventive measures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">He further said that we have established 18,500 community clinics and union health centers to ensure basic health care for the people of the villages. Thirty types of medicines are being distributed free of charge by the hospital. Tele-medicine services have been introduced in 43 hospitals across the country, with 30,000 satellite clinics to ensure healthcare for mothers and children. In addition, there are 103 service centers that offer free treatment to 5 lakh autistic children.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The Prime Minister said that a plan has been taken to build one medical college in each district.
