International Desk:<\/strong> The mysterious balloon flying over the United States is from China. It was used for “mainly meteorological” purposes. China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this information on Friday.<\/p>\n

The balloon was seen in the skies above Billings, Montana, on Wednesday. Earlier, it flew through Alaska’s Aleutian Islands and Canada. US defense officials suspect it is a “Chinese surveillance balloon.” They claimed that the balloon was seen flying over sensitive installations. The US also claimed that the balloon contained a “high-level surveillance device.”<\/p>\n

A senior US defense official said on condition of anonymity that the White House could order it to be shot down. That is why the government has developed fighter jets like the F-22.<\/p>\n
