The Department of Health has been directed to keep a total of 20 seats ready at the DNCC Covid-19 Dedicated Hospital in Mohakhali to treat those infected with the virus.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Dr. Friday, Acting Director of Hospital and Clinic BranchThis instruction was given in a circular signed by Sheikh Daud Adnan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Earlier, in an emergency notice on Monday, the Directorate informed that there had been an outbreak of Nipah virus fever in 28 districts of the country. In such a situation, doctors have to take special precautions while attending to patients with fever symptoms in every hospital in the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Health Minister Zahid Malek said in a recent press conference about the outbreak of Nipah virus in the meeting room of the Ministry of Health in the Secretariat that eight people have been infected with the virus this season. Five of them died. The death rate of this virus is 70 percent. The health minister said that this disease is caused by eating raw juice and fruits eaten by birds. Bats carry this virus. If bats drink palm juice, it becomes nipah if humans drink it. It spreads rapidly through contact with sick people. Multiple infections then occur. He said, &#8220;I have taken steps to make people aware of this virus.&#8221; We made the TVC. Infectious diseases are being treated in a separate unit at the hospital.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Among the instructions were: &#8220;Mandatory wearing of masks while seeing patients.&#8221; Hands should be washed with soap before and after seeing the patient. If symptoms of fever appear, the patient must be kept in an isolation ward. If unconsciousness occurs with fever, the patient should be kept in the ICU of the concerned hospital. Attendants should only wear gloves and masks while the patient is in the ICU.because the Nipah virus is not spread through the air from a patient infected with the virus. As this patient can be treated in the ICU, there is no need to refer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, on January 11, the government&#8217;s Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control, and Research (IEDCR) said that in the last 22 years, 326 people were infected with the Nipah virus and 231 people died. In the conference titled &#8220;Winter Infectious Diseases and Nipah Virus Infection,&#8221; they said that a woman from Rajshahi died of this virus within the first 10 days of the new year. He was infected after consuming date palm juice. Three cases of Nipah virus have been reported in 2022. Two of them died. One of them was from Naogaon, the other from Faridpur.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">According to IEDCR director Professor Tahmina Shirin, the virus spreads through bat urine or saliva.When the bat eats the sap of the date palm, it becomes &#8220;infected&#8221; by it. People eat the juice raw and get infected. After that, through the infected person, his family members and acquaintances are infected. through them<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Health workers can also be affected. He advises against consuming raw date juice and half-eaten bat fruits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Speakers at the conference also said that it may take 8\u20139 days for Nipah symptoms to appear after consuming contaminated date palm juice. Symptoms appear 6\u201311 days after exposure to an already infected patient. According to IEDCR researchers, date juice is safe to consume with jaggery, and so is jaggery.
