{"id":3602,"date":"2023-01-31T09:05:28","date_gmt":"2023-01-31T09:05:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/?p=3602"},"modified":"2023-01-31T09:05:28","modified_gmt":"2023-01-31T09:05:28","slug":"three-level-security-at-the-book-fair-no-threat-of-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/news\/3602\/","title":{"rendered":"Three-level security at the book fair, no threat of attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\"><strong>Dhaka Bureau:<\/strong> Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Khandkar Golam Farooq said three levels of security measures have been taken to avoid any untoward incident at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">He said this to reporters after observing the overall security situation at the book fair on Tuesday morning (January 31).<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Golam Farooq said if the authors-publishers feel any kind of threat at the book fair, they will inform the police. There is no fear of a terrorist attack at the fair. But we are not complacent about it either. All kinds of security measures have been taken at the book fair. Adequate security measures have been taken to ensure that authors, readers, and visitors do not feel any security risk.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The DMP Commissioner said that three levels of security measures have been taken to ensure a smooth book fair. Apart from fair-centric security, there will be Shahid Minar, Shahbagh, and Neelkhet-centric security arrangements. There will be arches and metal detectors at each entrance before entering the main fair premises. If anyone is suspected, he will be taken to a separate room and searched. Every inch of the surrounding area, including the fair premises, has been covered by CCTV. An adequate number of uniformed policemen will be deployed on the fairgrounds, along with plainclothes policemen. There will be motorcycle and car patrols around the fair. Besides, the CTTC, Bomb Disposal Unit, Crime Scene Van, and Dog Squad will be ready. All preparations have been made to deal with any emergency situation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Golam Farooq also said that a medical team and fire service would be deployed at the book fair. There will be a breast-feeding room inside the DMP control room. Our senior officers will visit the fair regularly.
