Dhaka Bureau:<\/strong> Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the government will take Bangladesh towards a developed country along with the women’s society. In 2026, Bangladesh will finally become a developing country. We will go further. We are formulating all our development programs keeping that in mind. We will move forward by involving women.<\/p>\n

He said this while meeting a delegation of the Council of Patrons of Asian University for Women (AUW) at the Prime Minister’s Office on Sunday (January 22).<\/p>\n

The delegation was led by Chancellor of the University Cheri Blair. Prime Minister’s speech writer. Nazrul Islam briefed the media after the meeting.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister said that the main goal of his government is to ensure the overall development of the country including food, education and healthcare for all.<\/p>\n

He told the AWW delegation, not just general education, but provide education that will make them skilled, not unemployed.<\/p>\n

Mentioning that he has donated land for this university, the Prime Minister said that women’s education is essential for the development of any country. At this time he briefly highlighted the various programs taken by his government.<\/p>\n

In the meeting, Sheikh Hasina said regarding Afghanistan, the current Afghan government is forcibly stopping women’s education in that country. The whole world is witnessing it. But no one is taking any action against it. There is no scope to stop women education in the name of Islam. Islam always talks about equal rights of men and women.<\/p>\n

In this context, the Prime Minister also mentioned that he himself faced strong opposition regarding women leadership when he joined politics.<\/p>\n

Sheikh Hasina also mentioned that she dedicated her life for the development of the country and the people. On the Rohingya issue, the Prime Minister said that her government has provided education to Rohingya children in their own language.<\/p>\n
