The female member would target the victim and make him make eye contact or talk on the mobile phone. Later, they used to lure them to a secluded place by using CNG. On Thursday, the Panchlaish Model Thana police arrested 3 people including the mastermind of such a fraudulent gang in the city.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Confirming the truth of the incident, Nazim Uddin, OC of CMP Panchlaish Police Station, said that for a long time, a gang in Chittagong city was using women as bait to kidnap people and demanding ransom and extorting large sums of money. As the matter was sensitive, none of the victims sought legal redress.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said that on December 26, the gang kidnapped a person and held him hostage and demanded a ransom of one lakh taka from him. Later, through development, he collected 40,000 rupees in cash.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The same gang abducted another victim in the same process from Muradpur on December 30 and recovered Tk 20,000 through development. Later raids were conducted and they were arrested from different places and brought to the police station.
