Dhaka Bureau:<\/strong> The government has given ‘President’s Industrial Development Award 2020’ to 20 industrial establishments in 6 categories for setting up industries in the private sector, creating employment and contributing to the country’s economy.<\/p>\n

The awards were handed over to the owners\/representatives of these industrial establishments at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Thursday (January 5).<\/p>\n

Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun was the chief guest at the event presided over by Industry Secretary Zakia Sultana. The special guests were the Minister of State for Industry Kamal Ahmed Majumder and President of FBCCI Md. Jasim Uddin. Among others, senior officials of various ministries including the Ministry of Industry, businessmen, directors of various award-winning industrial institutions and invited guests were present.<\/p>\n

5 organizations were awarded in the large industry category, 5 in the medium industry category, 4 in the small industry category, 1 in the micro industry category, 2 in the cottage industry category and 3 in the hi-tech industry category. Runner Automobiles Ltd. and Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. were joint first in the large industry category. BRB Cable Industries Limited and Fariha Spinning Mills Limited are joint 2nd. 3rd is Envoy Textile Limited.<\/p>\n

Noman Terry Towel Mills Limited stood 1st in the medium industry category. Mascotex Limited and APS Design Works Limited were joint 2nd. Bengal Polymer Wires Limited and Aco-Tex Limited are joint 3rd.<\/p>\n

Masco Overseas Limited was the 1st in the small scale industry category, Abdul Jalil Limited and Pacific Sea Foods Limited were joint 2nd. Madhavadi Dyeing Finishing Mills Limited was 3rd.<\/p>\n

Only 1 company was selected in the micro industry category\u2014Moscow Dairy Enterprise.<\/p>\n

In the cottage industry category, Intelligent Card Ltd. got 1st and Rang Mela Nari Kalyan Sanstha (RNKS) got 2nd.<\/p>\n

In Hi-Tech industry category, Fair Electronics Ltd. got 1st, Mir Telecom Ltd. got 2nd and Service Engine Ltd got 3rd.<\/p>\n

According to the ‘President’s Industrial Development Award Guidelines 2013’ by the Ministry of Industry, the ‘President’s Industrial Development Award’ was started for the first time in 2014. In continuation of this, the ‘President’s Industrial Development Award 2020’ was given for the 6th time this year.<\/p>\n

Recently the government has formulated the ‘President’s Industrial Development Award Policy 2020’. It describes the purpose of awarding the President’s Industrial Development Award, determining the field, determining the number of award recipients and criteria, nomination eligibility, preliminary list preparation committee, application evaluation committee and nomination finalization committee formation and scope of work etc. The Chairman\/Managing Director (as applicable) of the President’s Industrial Development Awardee will be invited to various national functions and civic receptions organized by the City Corporation for one year after receiving the award.<\/p>\n

In the event, the Industries Minister said that the anti-independence movement wants to hinder the current government’s pace of development. As a result of the contribution of the present government, export income has increased, GDP growth has been achieved and the country has developed. The current government has no choice to continue the development.<\/p>\n

The Industries Minister congratulated the selected organizations\/entrepreneurs for such prestigious awards and said, I think this recognition at the national level will play an important role in the development of the industrial sector in the country. Bangabandhu embarked on a long struggle to turn the Bengali nation into a self-reliant and industrialized nation. He always struggled for the economic and social emancipation of the Bengali nation. After the independence of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu undertook the second revolution program with the aim of economic liberation. But, the anti-independence evil forces brutally killed him and his family with the aim of making Bangladesh a new Pakistan. By killing Bangabandhu, this evil power wanted to turn the wheels of Bangladesh’s development backwards. But, due to the determination of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangabandhu’s privileged daughter, their conspiracy did not succeed.
