It is undoubtedly an important event in the history of Bangladesh newspapers. Historians have said that this journey of Ittefaq is very important not only in the newspaper, but also in the history of the birth of Bangladesh. Because, Ittefaq has performed its duties with devotion at every stage of the movement behind the birth of Bangladesh. Ittefaq has stood like an independent watchman and given direction to the changing political dynamics and direction of Bangladesh. That direction was to the politicians, to the people. In that directive, there was an outline of achieving the goals of democracy and human rights. People of Bangladesh, politicians, cultural figures and ordinary people have collectively developed a movement by adopting that direction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So we humbly say, Ittefaq and Bangladesh&#8217;s path to independence was one. The journey of Ittefaq and the journey of independent Bangladesh were identical. Liberation War is our constant source of inspiration. Mainly Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Manik Mia and Dainik Ittefaq\u2014the determination of these three united at one point paved the way for the Bengali independence movement to achieve its ultimate goal. It was through his path that the liberation war and the emergence of independent sovereign Bangladesh took place. That is why it is also undeniable that Dainik Ittefaq and the founding editor of this newspaper Tafazzal Hossain Manik Mia were synonymous. In fact, Tafazzal Hossain Manik Mia&#8217;s rigid stance towards democracy is reflected in daily Ittefaq.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We have passed 51 years of liberation war. Although the country has achieved independence, we have not yet achieved the goal that people cherished in their hearts during the liberation war. The country is developing in many ways. The country has started to move from being a poor country to a developing country; But still we have not eradicated poverty from the lives of significant people. It has not been possible to establish good governance in the country. Even today people have not been freed from the deprivation for which people have protested and sacrificed their lives during the Pakistan period. Although we have improved economically compared to Pakistan, we have not achieved the level we all dreamed of to raise independent Bangladesh. Wealth is owned by a few. Discrimination is increasing in society. Freedom of speech, the fundamental rights of people are also being questioned. Economists believe that the goal of the liberation war has not been achieved as the economic liberation of the common people has not been achieved even today. As long as this disparity exists, the responsibility of the press remains. Ittefaq has always been committed to achieving that goal. As long as the people of the country do not taste full freedom, Ittefaq will continue to carry the responsibility of mass-oriented journalism inherited from generation to generation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After the war of liberation, the reality of the time has changed the pattern of Ittefaq. His behavior and language have changed. Their journalism continues to progress with the position of Bangladesh at the national and international level. With the evolution of time, there has been an evolution in journalism. There have been many changes in the format of Ittefaq to meet the demands of time; But Ittefaq&#8217;s position on the question of truth, justice, democracy and the rights of the people of Bangladesh has never changed since its establishment. don&#8217;t change<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the auspicious occasion of this traditional newspaper of Bangladesh, I express my gratitude and best wishes to the people of Bangladesh. It is your boundless love that has motivated Dainik Ittefaq for a long way. The main aim of journalism is to meet the demands of time. From that aspect Daily Ittefaq has met the demands of time since its inception. Today we respectfully remember those whose sacrifice, advice and love Daily Ittefaq has passed through several generations. Daily Ittefaq remembers with deep respect Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy, the son of democracy, the oppressed public leader Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and fearless journalist Tafazzal Hossain Manik Mia. Dainik Ittefaq has reached its present position thanks to their endless motivation, love and sacrifice. At the same time remembering the martyrs of Bengali independence movement. Martyred heroes in the great liberation war.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Historians say that the combined power of mass-oriented journalism with powerful opposition political forces provided the impetus to lead the country to freedom. Analysis of history shows that a strong opposition party strengthens other foundations of the state, including the press.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dainik Ittefaq played an outstanding role in Bangladesh&#8217;s independence movement. From being vocal against military rule, the truth has been revealed uncompromisingly. At some point, the military regime of the Pakistani government stopped the publication of the daily Ittefaq. At that time Manik Mia could have continued publishing Ittefaq if he had compromised with the then government of Pakistan; But he and the class of journalists inspired by his spirit did not compromise the faith of the people in the newspaper. He stopped publishing the newspaper for three years. Journalists also suffered indescribably; But no one cared. The example of fearless journalism he has created is a rare example of Manik Mia&#8217;s ideals, ignoring the blood-eyes of the military junta and autocrats.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ever since the independence movement of Bangladesh, since 1954 Daily Ittefaq has been trying to make people aware of the people of Bangladesh against autocracy and in favor of democracy. After that, the six-point movement, the popular uprising of the nineties and the Bengali independence movement\u2014in everything, Daily Ittefaq used journalism to guide politics forward.
