Shelly Chakraborty and Vijay Chakraborty (Shaon) are the second wife and foster sons of Tapan Chakraborty, former Central Organizing Secretary of Jatiya Party and former General Secretary of Chittagong Metropolitan Jatiya Party. But year after year they have been illegally occupying railway space on the south side of Riaz Uddin Bazar i.e. Nizam Hotel Line 3\/A behind Baghdad Hotel by selling adulterated liquor and selling drugs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to sources, after the death of Tapan Chakraborty, there is a dispute with Tapan Chakraborty&#8217;s nephew Ajay Chakraborty over the ownership of Haru Babu&#8217;s &#8216;Country Spread Soap&#8217;. The dispute eventually went to court. Now the cases are pending in court. According to the Hindu Law of Succession only the decedent is entitled to inherit the property of the deceased. Since Tapan Chakraborty has no biological children, the court has jurisdiction to designate the heirs of this property.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is alleged that after the death of Tapan Chakraborty, Shelly Chakraborty and Vijay Chakraborty and Amit Chakraborty led drug trade and various criminal activities in the railway area, but the concerned authorities including the Eastern Railway are playing a mysterious role.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On investigation, it is known that the license of liquor store named &#8216;Country Spread Shop&#8217; at 3\/A Station Road of Chittagong Railway Station (number 178-01\/1964-65) was issued by the Directorate of Narcotics Control in the name of Haru Babu&#8217;s wife Mrs. Anita Dasgupta. Later, using the power of Jatiya Party from them, the license of Tapan Chakraborty Mahal was not taken. After Tapan Chakraborty died, this liquor palace was managed by Tapan&#8217;s second wife Shelly Chakraborty and Vijay and Amit Chakraborty claiming sole ownership.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is known that they have been illegally selling adulterated country liquor at the railway station instead of selling the liquor at the place allotted as per the terms of the license. They have slowly built a drug empire there. By this the government is losing a lot of revenue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On the surface, Station Road has become a paradise for criminals due to the liquor palace. There is no crime that does not revolve around the liquor palace from dusk till dawn. There is a thriving trade in alcohol, gambling and prostitution. This area is now well known as the main hub of drugs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is known that various types of drugs including phensidyl, ganja, yaba, heroin are available around this illegal liquor palace called &#8216;Country Spread Soap&#8217;. Although this license issued in the name of Haru Babu&#8217;s wife is for a liquor shop, Tapan&#8217;s second wife Shelly and Vijay and Amit Chakraborty are doing rampant drug business including adulterated country liquor under the cover of the license. They built a huge drug empire on Station Road.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is known that Barisal Colony, Station Colony, Railway Platform, Station Road, Riaz Uddin Bazar, BRTC Mor, Cover Store and other areas are involved in their rampant drug trade, and they have their own fleet of 20\/30 people to carry drugs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On condition of anonymity, a drug dealer who carries drugs said that he is also selling adulterated liquor mixed with double water spirit. They do this through their trusted employees. Their liquor drums are always mixed with various toxic chemicals. As a result, adulterated alcohol consumption increases morbidity and mortality.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When drug dealer Vijay Chakraborty Shaon was contacted to know about the matter, he said, &#8220;I will be happy if you don&#8217;t do news about this, because we don&#8217;t do business here, starting from local administration, railway officials, narcotics officers, RNB, GRP police station, everyone including huge amount of money.&#8221; The railway authorities are not evicting my liquor palace. And they don&#8217;t even have the head to evict our liquor palace.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mukul Jyoti Chakma, deputy director of the Narcotics Control Department (Metro) said, &#8220;I don&#8217;t know about the matter. I have to look at the documents and say, I am outside the office. If I asked how they issue liquor license without knowing anything, he cut the line immediately.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Departmental Land Property Officer of Eastern Railway.
