International Desk:<\/strong> The country’s Ministry of Defense has issued a state of emergency to stop the ongoing violence in Peru. Arson programs have also been seen across the country demanding the release of former President Pedro Castillo and new elections. Meanwhile, the country’s authorities want to keep the ousted president in prison for a long time. Meanwhile, members of the military will assist the police in maintaining public safety as a result of protests and roadblocks. Reuters news.<\/p>\n

The protests erupted after former President Pedro Castillo was ousted by impeachment in parliament on December 7. Originally, the country’s lawmakers had already proposed impeachment against Pedro Castillo. But to save himself, Pedro tried to dissolve the parliament. A few hours before his ouster, he issued a decree to rule the country.<\/p>\n

In a televised speech at the time, Pedro Castillo said he would temporarily dissolve parliament, rule by decree and hold new elections in the country. The members of his own party and the opposition party referred to his announcement as a clear coup d’\u00e9tat. He was then impeached by calling an emergency session of Parliament.<\/p>\n

Pedro was arrested soon after, and vice-president Dina Bolvarte took over as the country’s new president just a few hours later. 60-year-old Dina is the first female president in Peru’s history.
