About 2,000 people have been evacuated from the surrounding villages of Mount Semeru in fear that hot lava may start erupting at any time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">People have also been requested to maintain a distance of at least eight kilometers from the mountain. Raising the alert level from three to four means the eruption could also damage people&#8217;s homes. A bridge was severely damaged by its previous eruption at Mount Semeru. The local administration said that the bridge is being rebuilt. The ash coming out of the fire is mixing with rainwater and covering the surrounding villages in mud. Officials also said that at least six villages have been affected.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The video shows that the sky has turned black. A huge ash cloud covered the sun. The eruption started from Mount Semeru in East Java province at 2:46 pm local time on Saturday. Indonesia&#8217;s position in the Pacific Ocean&#8217;s &#8216;Ring of Fire&#8217;.
