Out of this, 229 people were killed in 194 motorcycle accidents. Accidents increased by 8.43 percent and fatalities by 14.93 percent. Earlier, 482 people were killed in 427 road accidents last October. Most accidents and casualties occurred in Dhaka Division. 174 people were killed in 142 accidents in this section. At the same time, 5 people were killed, 7 people were injured and 2 people were missing in 3 boat accidents. 11 killed and 4 injured in 8 railway accidents.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This information was informed in a press release of the Road Safety Foundation on Sunday. On behalf of the organization, it is said that the concerned authorities should take serious initiative in implementing the &#8216;Road Transport Act-2018&#8217; to control accidents. Accidents occur mainly due to anarchy and disorganization in the road transport sector. A sustainable public transport strategy should be developed to improve this situation. The organization believes that the political will of the government is necessary for this.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The press release signed by Saidur Rahman, executive director of the organization, informed that 463 road accidents occurred in the country last November. 554 people were killed and 747 people were injured in these accidents. Among the dead are 78 women and 71 children. 229 people died in 194 motorcycle accidents, which is 41.33 percent of the total deaths. Motorcycle accident rate is 41.90 percent. 123 pedestrians were killed in the accident, which is 22.20 percent of the total fatalities. 79 people were killed by the driver and assistant of the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the notification, among the accidents, 192 national highways, 148 regional roads, 74 rural roads, 43 city roads and 6 accidents occurred in other places. Among the accidents, 81 were head-on collisions, 206 were due to loss of control, 126 were hit\/pushed pedestrians, 38 were rear-end collisions and 12 were due to other causes. These accidents are caused due to defective vehicles, reckless speed, reckless mentality of drivers, inefficiency and physical and mental illness, reckless riding of motorcycles by youth and youth, lack of awareness and disobedience of traffic laws among the public.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dhaka Bureau: 554 people were killed and 747 injured in 463 road accidents across the country in November.
