She said that it is possible to reduce the price of Hilsa if middlemen in the market reduce.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Fisheries and Livestock Advisor made these remarks as the chief guest at the inauguration of the program &#8216;Selling Hilsa Fish at Reduced Prices to Remove Existing Obstacles in the Supply and Value Chain of Hilsa Fish&#8217; in front of the Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation (BFDC) building in Karwan Bazar in the capital on Sunday (January 19).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The fisheries advisor said that it is difficult to reduce the price of Hilsa and other fish with the existing system in the market. However, if the fish can be brought directly from the source of fishing to the place of sale, it is possible to reduce the price of fish.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation Chairman (Additional Secretary) Suraiya Akhtar Jahan presided over the meeting, and Bangladesh Marine Fisheries Association President Enam Chowdhury, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Syeda Nawara Jahan, BFDC Director (Finance); Advait Chandra Das, Deputy Director of the Fisheries and Livestock Information Department; Umme Habiba, Director of the Bangladesh Marine Fisheries Association; Taisir Khan, Secretary of the Association; Abid Hossain, President of the Fish Farm Owners Association (FOAB); and Molla Shamsur Rahman Shaheen were present as special guests. Later, the advisor participated in a view-sharing meeting with BFDC officials.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is worth noting that the Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation (BFDC) and the Bangladesh Marine Fisheries Association are working jointly to implement the Hilsa fish marketing program. The slogan of this program has been set as \u2018Incomparable in taste and smell\u2014buy Hilsa and be blessed.\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the low-price Hilsa sale program, Hilsa weighing 450 grams to 850 grams is being sold at 600 taka per kg.
