{"id":18470,"date":"2024-11-08T14:27:49","date_gmt":"2024-11-08T14:27:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/?p=18470"},"modified":"2024-11-08T14:27:49","modified_gmt":"2024-11-08T14:27:49","slug":"work-will-be-done-to-resolve-the-forest-departments-conflict-with-the-forest-dwellers-rizwana-hasan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/news\/18470\/","title":{"rendered":"Work will be done to resolve the forest department&#8217;s conflict with the forest dwellers- Rizwana Hasan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"><strong>Crime Desk Report:<\/strong> The government is working to protect the rights of the Garos in the forest.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Ministry of Water Resources said these things in the chief guest speech on the occasion of the celebration of &#8216;Wangala&#8217;, the traditional harvest festival of the Garo community at Banani Vidyaniketan School and College today (08 November). <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He said that the forest-dependent communities&#8217; rights to land, right to water, right to travel, right to graze and right to extract forest products will be determined legally. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"jCAhz\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The adviser said that work will be done to resolve the conflict between the forest department and the forest dwellers.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Necessary revision of Social Forestry Rules is in progress in Elksha. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He said that the tribal council has started working to establish the rights of the Garos.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The district administration has been instructed to mark the disputed boundary of Madhupur forest.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Nothing will be done to the exclusion of forest dwellers in local development activities.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The Ministry of Land and Water will work together against sand bandits and stone thieves. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"jCAhz\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">He said, Wangala is a special symbol of culture and tradition of Garo community.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">It increases the power of harmony in our society.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Wangala draws our attention to the relationship between nature and human society.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Harvest time is a time to express gratitude to nature.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">We all should take care of natural resources like Garo to protect the environment. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">NBR member Fazlul Haque, Additional Secretary (Cultural Heritage) of the Ministry of Culture Nafriza Shaima, writer and researcher Pavel Parth, poet and researcher Parag Richil, Presidency University Registrar Md.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Shakir Hossain, director of Caritas Development Institute, Theophile Nokrek, development researcher.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Bapan Mankhin, Banani Vidyaniketan School and College Principal Dr.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Moshiur Rahman, The Christian Cooperative Credit Union President Hemonto Karaya and others. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The guests enjoyed the traditional dance and music of the Garo community.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">Later the adviser unveiled the cover of the special magazine published on the occasion of Wangala.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Crime Desk Report: The government is working to protect the rights of the Garos in the forest.
