The Kanpur Test can be assumed to be Shakib’s last until the team for the South Africa series is announced. Shakib’s security assurance\u2014the terms are yet to be decided. However, the response from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the government is that it does not seem that Shakib can go to the country and retire.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, as the head coach, Chandika Hathurusinghe, said, the possibility of hope in the country cannot be ruled out at once. All in all, the matter is in a state of flux.<\/p>\n

Shakib has retired from the T20 World Cup 2024; if Kanpur is the last Test, then Shakib is no longer included in the central contract for the two editions. Salary is reduced by more than half!<\/p>\n

BCB pays cricketers separately according to edition and category. Shakib is in the ‘A’ plus category in all three editions. His salary is 4.5 lakh in Test, 4 lakh in ODI, and 3.5 lakh in T20.<\/p>\n

If a cricketer’s name is in three editions, he gets 100% of the first edition, 50% of the second edition, and 40% of the third edition, according to the category. As such, Shakib was getting a salary of 730,000 rupees per month. Apart from this, the cricketers get additional allowance if they fulfill the quota of playing a certain number of matches in the three editions. With this allowance, Shakib used to get more than lakhs of rupees every month.<\/p>\n

Shakib’s name is automatically removed from the contract due to talk of retirement from Tests and T20s. Also, the salary of two versions will be stopped. Shakib would have received 4.5 lakh from the Test contract and 40% from the T20 contract, i.e., 1 lakh 40 thousand. Shakib will not get the money for these two editions. Shakib will get Rs 4 lakh per month for the ODI contract only.<\/p>\n

For a long time, Shakib was the highest-paid cricketer in Bangladesh. That place is now occupied by Nazmul Hossain Shantar. Shanta’s salary in the A+ category in the three editions is 7 lakh 90 thousand, with a captain’s allowance of Tk 1 lakh.
