Sahiduzzaman The Deputy Commissioner said that Section 144 has been issued at the headquarters to avoid untoward incidents. Law enforcement forces are deployed there.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Giving details of the incident, Khagrachari Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Baten Mridha told the media that the hill students had been demanding the withdrawal of teacher Sohel Rana for quite some time. Several years ago, a case was filed against Sohail Rana for sexually harassing a Hill student. Sohel Rana was acquitted and joined the job when the student testified that she had filed a case under the pressure of a Pahari organization. Ever since Sohail Rana joined the service, Pahari students have been demanding his withdrawal by making various allegations of sexual harassment against female students. Even today, a teacher in Tripura was arrested and killed for allegedly raping a student.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, there was a chase between Pahari and Bengali students to protest the killing of the teacher. Various rooms and furniture of technical schools and colleges were vandalized. 15-20 people were injured. Despite the security forces claiming to bring the situation under control, the situation prevails throughout the city.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is to be noted that a young man named Mamun (30) was beaten to death in Khagrachari on suspicion of being a thief in the early hours of September 18. Then the mountain became restless.
