This operation was conducted on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Alankar intersection of Chittagong City. This campaign and public awareness activities were conducted under the leadership of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ahmed Pear and AC-Traffic Fauzul Kabir Moin of Traffic West Division of CMP.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is known that battery-operated rickshaws and tomtoms have been banned on the main roads of the city. This decision has been effective since September 9.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to CMP Traffic West Division sources, one bus, two trucks, one human hauler, two CNG taxis, two auto tempos, one motorcycle, and eight battery-operated rickshaws were seized in the dumping yard for the crime of driving vehicles without road permits, documents, and prohibited entry in the Chittagong metropolitan area. Besides, cases were registered against two buses, a Mangmia Auto Tempo, a human hauler, and a motorcycle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ahmed Payer said, not only battery-powered rickshaws, but the traffic congestion in the city is increasing due to the plying of illegal, unfit, and road-permitted vehicles. We are working tirelessly to restore order on the roads and free the city dwellers from the suffering of traffic jams.
