On Monday (August 26) morning, they blocked the Shahbag intersection of the capital and protested. At that time, traffic stopped there.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The rickshaw pullers said that they have been demanding the ban of battery-powered autorickshaws for a long time. However, the authorities did not listen to them and came down the streets today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The rickshaw pullers said that the auto rickshaw drivers leave only if the fare is 100 taka 50 taka. For them, pedal rickshaw pullers don&#8217;t get passengers and don&#8217;t get fair fare. They cannot earn enough money by driving rickshaws all day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They also said that autorickshaws are not allowed in Dhaka. Still, autorickshaws are running. Foot rickshaws are valid and have numbers. A fee of Rs 300 per year is required for this. This Sheikh Hasina has paralyzed our legal rickshaws by allowing illegal auto rickshaws.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The High Court has given a total of three directions in seven years from 2014 to 2021 to stop battery-operated rickshaws in Dhaka and Chittagong cities. The High Court ordered to stop battery-operated rickshaws along with three-wheelers and easy bikes on the road.
