Raw chillies are not available in any market. Raw chillies are being sold at Tk 900 to 1000 per kg in the retail market. On Sunday (August 25) morning, this picture can be seen in Chawkbazar, Kazi Deuri, and Bahaddarhat markets of the city.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In these markets, raw chillies are seen, but they are negligible compared to other days. Traders said that this situation has happened due to reduced supply. They say that because of the flood, pepper is not coming to the market. Most of the vegetables in the raw market of the city come from different districts, including Bogra, Faridpur, and Jamalpur. Vegetables, including green chilies, are not coming for the last three days. As a result, there is a crisis in the market. Dishonest sellers have increased the price several times on this occasion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, 11 districts of the country are currently affected by floods. Many consumers are worried about the increase in the price of vegetables. However, the traders said that there is no risk of an increase in the price of vegetables due to floods. Because of the areas that have been flooded, very few vegetables come to Dhaka.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In Bahaddarhat, Kazir Deuri, and Karnaphuli complex markets of the city, shopkeepers are selling 100 grams of pepper for Tk 80 to Tk 90.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Along with green chillies, the price of brinjal in the market has increased by Tk 10 to Tk 15 per kg. Eggplant was sold at Tk 110-130 per kg on Friday. The prices of broiler chicken, chicken eggs, fish, and other vegetables are stable in the market. Each kg of desi onion was sold at Tk 100-110, potato at Tk 60, garlic at Tk 200-220, and ginger at Tk 260-280. In retail, the price of onion has decreased by Tk 10 per kg and the price of potato by Tk 5 compared to a week ago. Apart from this, broiler chickens were sold at Tk 170 per kg, golden chickens at Tk 250-260, and farm chicken eggs at Tk 150-155 per dozen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mofizur Rahman, a shopkeeper of Chawkbazar in the city, told the media that there has been a crisis due to the non-arrival of raw chillies in the market for the last two to three days. Vegetables and chillies are not coming from distant districts due to water in the highway. Two days ago, the price of raw chili was between Tk 170-280 per kg. There is not much raw chili in the market, so the price has gone up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">National Consumer Protection Directorate Divisional Deputy Director (Chittagong) Mohammad Faiz Ullah told the media that we are monitoring the market. If there is no supply of raw chillies in the market, there is no chance of increasing the price.
