Dhaka Bureau:<\/strong> There is heat and excitement in politics around the BNP convention in Dhaka on December 10. Discussions, speculations or analysis are going on from the tea shop to the office-court about what will happen on that day. Among them, Jamaat-e-Islami is the food of special discussion. What will be the role of this anti-independence party on that day? However, according to the reports of the intelligence agency and speaking to some of the Jamaat’s field level leaders, it is known that the Jamaat has a plan around December 10. Accordingly, preparations are underway to bring one lakh leaders and workers of the party from all over the country to Dhaka. On that day, the leaders and activists of the party will avoid the BNP rally and will take a position in different alleys of the capital. The party’s leaders and activists have already been notified of their arrival in Dhaka. A message from the top level of the party said, “Guests will come to Dhaka” in the possible places where they will stay when they come to Dhaka. They have been asked to prepare for hospitality. However, it is known from the reports of some intelligence agencies that special attention is being kept on the Jamaat leadership by law and order forces.<\/p>\n

Several Jamaat sources said that Jamaat has already started preparations in every ward of the capital for the BNP’s general meeting in the capital on December 10. As a part of the preparation, preparations have been made for the accommodation and food of the leaders and activists coming to the capital from all over the country. In the past, the leaders and activists of Jamaat have taken positions in mosques-madrasas or mass gatherings, but this time they have been asked to avoid those places by the top echelons of the party. This time, apart from adopting different strategies, they have been instructed to go to the houses of their relatives in Dhaka or to the houses of leaders and activists of various levels of the party in the capital. And the leaders and activists staying in Dhaka have been told that on the occasion of December 10, everyone has to arrange accommodation for at least four to five leaders and activists as well as provide hospitality. Besides, since the law and order forces can conduct raids in the capital at any time, keeping this in mind, leaders and activists have been instructed to take positions around Dhaka. For example, the leaders and activists of the three divisions of the northern region – Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions are asked to take positions in different places of Gazipur, Savar, Ashulia and Gabtali. Leaders and activists of the three southern divisions – Khulna, Barisal and Faridpur regions were asked to take up positions in Keraniganj and Narayanganj near Dhaka. In addition, the leaders and activists of the eastern division of the country – Chittagong, Sylhet and Comilla region are asked to take positions in Narayanganj, Munshiganj and Rupganj. The reason for taking a stand in these areas is said to be the fear of a transport strike like BNP’s past divisional rallies before December 10. That is why, if you stay at a short distance from the capital, you should not have any difficulty in entering Dhaka even if you walk on that day.<\/p>\n

On December 10, a top leader of the Dhaka Metropolitan South Jamaat said, “We have no plans on that day.” This is BNP rally. Why will the Jamaat take part here? In response to a question at that time, he said that the issues on which BNP is rallying, it is true, these are the demands of the people. Now, it is not for us to see who the common people came to these gatherings. First, everyone is the common people of this country, then the supporters of the party. Those who join Jamaat are also citizens of this country. They also have to be crushed by the price of daily commodities. Earlier, Jamaat Amir Dr. participated in a seminar in the capital on October 28. Shafiqur Rahman said that the country is now in a dire situation. All human rights have been taken away. Injustice has been imposed on people in the name of justice. People have no democratic rights, no right to speak. People have no right to live with dignity. In a word, the nation has now become a proletarian nation. I would like to give a strong message to those who want to suppress misrule by imposing misrule on the neck of the nation, kindly take stock of themselves. Power doesn’t last forever, it’s time for you to go too. Say goodbye without harming the nation.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, an intelligence source said, Jamaat will act as the main supporting force for BNP’s December 10 general meeting. Jamaat has already finalized where and who will sit according to the design of Dhaka city. According to the strategy of BNP-Jamaat, Jamaat will avoid the streets on that day. BNP will occupy Rajpath, and Jamaat will occupy Oligli. Because it has already been said by Awami League that on December 10, the leaders and activists of various affiliated organizations of Awami League will be on alert in Oligli of the capital. For this reason, Jamaat was instructed to take a stand against Awami League leaders and activists. So that the anti-government position can be confirmed on the streets as well as in the streets. So that if there is any trouble, the law and order forces will not get cornered.<\/p>\n

However, no BNP leader wanted to speak publicly on the Jamaat issue. A leader of the BNP Standing Committee, who did not wish to be named, said that it is forbidden to talk about the Jamaat issue. Regarding the presence of Jamaat in the ongoing rallies of BNP, he said, we do not have any information about this. Our rally is mainly to protest against the rise in prices of daily commodities. That is why any common citizen of the country can come to such gatherings. So it is not possible for anyone to judge whether it is Jamaat or anyone else. Besides, we have no relationship or contact with Jamaat. We are doing the anti-government movement alone. Regarding the location plan of Jamaat on December 10, this leader said, these are rumours. We do not have such a position program in mind. We are only continuing this grand convention in Dhaka I see it as a departmental gathering. Apart from this, BNP has no plans to oust the government at the moment.
