He submitted his resignation to the Ministry of Education on Sunday morning. UGC sources have confirmed this information.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the resignation letter, he has given the reason of physical illness. He wrote, I joined the post of chairman of the University Grants Commission on 28 May 2023 as per the notification of the Ministry of Education. I have been staying in Australia for medical treatment since August 20 last year as per the office order of the Secondary and Higher Education Department due to a physical illness. In view of the advice of the expert doctor of Australia and the current physical condition, I express my incapacity to perform the duties of the chairmanship of the commission.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Incidentally, since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government, there have been calls for resignation in various sectors. Many have already resigned, including the Chief Justice and the VC of Dhaka University.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Earlier on Saturday, Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. It is known that the principals of six halls and one hostel head of the university submitted their resignations, including ASM Maqsood Kamal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A senior official of the university said Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Maksud Kamal submitted his resignation to the concerned office on August 6.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And yesterday on Saturday, the principal of Vijay Ekatar Hall, Freedom Fighter Ziaur Rahman Hall, Rokeya Hall, Shamsun Nahar Hall, Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall, Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall, four more house tutors of Zahurul Haque Hall, and Nawab Faizunnessa Chaudhurani, Head of Student Residence, submitted their resignations to the office of Vice Chancellor.
