City Reporter:<\/strong> Quota activists are protesting by blocking the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway in the pre-announced ‘Complete Shutdown’ program of the anti-discrimination student movement, demanding quota reforms. Due to this, traffic on the highway is closed.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, July 18, around 10 a.m., the quota activists gathered at the Shah Amanat Bridge area of Chittagong and took a stand. After that, they started protesting on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway. Traffic stopped on the highway. Many cars were stuck on Karnaphuli and Anwara roads.<\/p>\n

Police and BGB members have taken positions there to bring the unpleasant situation under control.<\/p>\n

Earlier on Wednesday (July 17) at around 3 p.m., general students protested against the quota in Chandnaish, Chittagong. The procession took off from the town hall of Dohzari municipality in the upazila.<\/p>\n

The protest march went around the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway up to the main road of Dohazari town-headquarters and Dewanhat, chanting anti-quota slogans. The hour-long protest march ended at Dohajari Jamizuri. Rahman High School meets on the field.<\/p>\n
