The court ordered the seizure of 866 cents of land and four flats belonging to Matiur Rahman and his family. In view of ACC&#8217;s application, Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Jaglul Hossain gave this order on Thursday (July 4).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. A three-member committee of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started work to investigate the assets of Matiur Rahman. ACC Secretary Khorsheda Yasmin said that the decision to investigate Matiur Rahman was taken on June 4. A three-member investigation team headed by a Deputy Director of ACC has already been formed. Team members have also started working. Besides, Motiur Rahman was removed from the NBR on June 23 and attached to the Internal Resources Department of the Ministry of Finance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This time, Matiur Rahman&#8217;s son Ifat started a discussion while buying a goat from Sadiq Agro in Mohammadpur, the capital, for 1.5 lakh taka on the occasion of Qurbani Eid. After that, his movable and immovable assets, the amount of money accumulated in the bank, and the information on income and expenditure come into discussion. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is looking into it. The NBRO itself is said to have decided to scrutinize the information given in its income tax returns.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Basically, since the time when Motiur Rahman was working as a customs commissioner, there have been allegations of corruption against him. Multiple applications were submitted to different government institutions, including the ACC, to investigate and punish him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Even as an ordinary employee, he has made hundreds of millions of rupees so far. Owns a two-crore flat in Bashundhara and a luxurious seven-story house in Dhanmondi on 5 kathas. The price of which is 40 crores. Global Shoe Factory is on about 300 acres of land next to the seedstore area of Valuka. Apart from this, there is 60 percent land.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There is a joint developer company named JSIX. Bashundhara has 14-story commercial buildings. Gazipur Sadar has 60 percent land in 8 Khatians. The price of which is about 40 crore rupees. His wife Laila Kanij owns 14.03 percent of land in Bilamalia Mauza of Savar Police Station and 62.16 percent of land in Khilgaon Mauza of Gazipur Police Station.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Son Ahmed Taufiqur Rahman Arnab owns 14.50 percent of the of the land in Gazipur. The price of which is about 90 crores. He owns several expensive cars in the name of himself and his family members. FDR of more than 50 crore rupees has been deposited anonymously in various banks in his name. He has married more than once. He also has relationships with various women.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Matiur Rahman obtained an honors degree in finance from Dhaka University and first rank in first class in Masters from the same university. In addition, he obtained a PhD degree from Preston University in the United States.
