It is reported that the low-lying areas of Baghaichhari upazila in Rangamati have been flooded. Baghaichhari-Bahaihat-Sajek road and Bailey Bridge have been flooded.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At least hundreds of tourists are said to be stranded due to the closure of road communication between Baghaichari and Sajek. The administration and locals confirmed the matter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is known that road communication with Sajek has been stopped after the road and Bailey Bridge collapsed in Baghaihatbazar, Baghaichari, due to the descent of Pahari Dhal on Tuesday midnight. On Tuesday morning, no vehicles could leave Baghaihat for Sajek, and no vehicles could leave Sajek either. As a result, tourists going to Saje are stranded.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Confirming the matter, Anitya Tripura, president of the Sajekvalley Cottage Owners Association, said that due to the continuous heavy rains of the last few days, the water from the hills has risen on the Sajek Baghaihat road and the traffic on the road has stopped. Due to this, hundreds of tourists are stuck in the Sajek tourism valley.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sajek Police Station Abul Hasan Khan said that due to the continuous heavy rains of the last few days, about a hundred tourists were trapped in Sajek Valley due to the inundation of Machalong Bazar and Baghaihat areas of Sajek Union.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, it has been reported that Baghaichhari Upazila Sadar, Marishya, Barebindughat, Lalighona, Muslimpara, F Block, and Ulchhari are getting flooded due to continuous heavy rains. The people of those areas are suffering greatly. Shelters have been opened for the victims. Affected people are moving to safe shelters.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Baghaichhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shirin Akhter said that due to continuous rain, Dighinala Road of Khagrachari and Baghaihat Market of Baghaichari were submerged in water, so hundreds of tourists who went for a trip were stranded. Traffic will be normal when the water starts receding. Then they can return.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said that due to continuous rainfall for several days, the lower areas, including Baghaichhari Upazila Sadar, are getting flooded due to the hill slopes coming down from upstream. Affected people are being asked to move to safe shelters. 55 shelters have been opened in the upazila to deal with the situation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">District Commissioner Md. Mosharraf Hossain Khan said about a hundred tourists were stuck in Saje on Tuesday morning while traveling in three moon cars. Several places on the Sajek-Vaya Dighinala road are flooded. The media who are spreading the news of 5,700 tourists getting stuck in Saje are spreading wrong information without talking to me. It&#8217;s sad.
