On Sunday (May 5) afternoon, they were recalled to Rajshahi Police Lines from the Prematli Police Investigation Center of Rajshahi&#8217;s Godagari Upazila.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The four members who were withdrawn are Prematali Police Investigation Center Sub-Inspectors (SI). Rezaul Karim, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Md. Anwarul Islam, Constable Md. Rezaul Karim, and Milan Hossain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Last Saturday, around 8:30 p.m., some people picked up the teenager from Gogram village in Godagari upazila. The teenager was released around 11:30 p.m. His father, Md. . Murtaza, is a cloth merchant.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The teenager and the locals said that the victim teenager closed his father&#8217;s cloth shop around 8 p.m. on Saturday. Later, he was sitting and chatting with his two friends. At this time, four people on two motorcycles came in front of them. They identified themselves as policemen and took away the mobile phones of the three of them. Then they forcibly took the teenager on a motorcycle and left. He was handcuffed around 9 p.m. After that, he was taken to the bank of the Padma River near the Prematli Police Investigation Center and demanded a ransom of two lakh rupees.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At that time, they told him, &#8220;Call your father and tell him to bring the money; otherwise, I will give him a challan in the drug case.&#8221; At this time, the teenager&#8217;s mobile phone was receiving repeated calls from his parents&#8217; mobile phones. But they didn&#8217;t let him talk to his parents on the phone. After that, Sohanur was dropped on the side of an empty road in Basantpur of the upazila around 11:30 p.m. Later, the teenager went to Gogram Market alone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The victim said that they identified themselves to the police. Their behavior is similar to the police. However, they were not wearing police uniforms. The phone kept coming and saying &#8216;Sir, sir&#8217;. One of them handcuffed him. Later, they demanded two lakh rupees from him. They also threatened him that if he did not pay the contribution, they would bring the car to the police station and hand over the invoice. He wants to go with them to the police station without fear. He was later released around 11:30 p.m..<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The teenager also said that the four took the PIN number from the Bikash account on his mobile phone and withdrew Rs 3,000 in front of him. Two policemen left before he was released. The other two dropped him on the empty street.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the meantime, news of the victim being picked up by the police spread in the area. In this condition, his family started looking for him. Police were also called. At that time, the locals saw ASI Anwarul in white clothes in Gogram Bazaar. Local people ask him about the victim.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At one point, local people blocked him. After receiving the information, Osman Gani, the officer in charge of the Prematali Investigation Center, went to the spot with additional policemen. He beat the local people by going there. Seven-eight people were injured. Enraged by this incident, people threw bricks at the police car. Later, Godagari Model Police Station OC Abdul Matin and Godagari Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Sohel Rana went to the spot, calmed down the situation, and left with ASI Anwarul.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ASI Anwarul Islam said about the complaint of picking up the teenager and asking for extortion, &#8220;After this incident, he has been recalled to the police lines.
