At the same time, 10 more people have been sentenced to life imprisonment. Each of them has been fined Rs. Additional District and Sessions Judge-1 Judge Azizul Haque passed the verdict on Tuesday (April 30) afternoon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Those sentenced to death are Zainal Mia, Milan Ahmed, Abul Fazal, Qutub Uddin, Rafiq Mia, Zakir Hossain, and Abbas Uddin. Those sentenced to life are Syed Ali, Mijaz Ali, Matlib Mia, Qutb Uddin, Abul Kalam, Ziaur Rahman, Ayat Ali (absconder), Ishaq Ali, Judge Mia, and Ibrahim.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">State counsel Additional Public Prosecutor Saleh Uddin Ahmed confirmed the verdict. He also said that eight of the accused died during the trial. 22 people were acquitted as they were found innocent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the summary of the case, there was a dispute between former UP member Milan Ahmed and Harun Ahmed, residents of Hurgaon village in Sadar Upazila, over the expansion of dominance in the area. After the UP elections in 2003, the dispute intensified. On the morning of February 14 of that year, 7-8 people, including Harun Ahmed, went to invite the newly elected UP Chairman, Dulal Ahmed. On the way, under the leadership of Milan Ahmed, they attacked them with 40\u201350 indigenous weapons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Haroon Ahmed died on the spot in the attack. Suman Ahmed, the brother of the deceased, filed a case against 47 people in the Sadar police station. After the investigation, the police submitted the charge sheet against all the accused in court on August 18 of the same year.
