International Desk:<\/strong> US President Joe Biden called Friday’s attack on US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband “despicable”. An intruder attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer after breaking into the couple’s California home in search of the speaker early Friday, according to state officials. It fractured his skull.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a campaign rally in Philadelphia, Biden said political violence has “no place” in the United States and that “enough is not enough.”<\/p>\n

Referring to media reports, Biden said the assailant was chanting “Where’s Nancy?” The same slogan was used during the deadly attack on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.<\/p>\n

Biden said, ‘I’m not making this up’; “This has been reported” in the media.<\/p>\n

Pelosi’s spokesman Drew Hamill said on Friday, “The assailant attacked Paul Pelosi by forcefully crouching down and threatening to take his life, demanding to meet with the speaker.”<\/p>\n

According to reports, Paul Pelosi (82) underwent surgery and is recovering in hospital. He was alone at home, as his wife was working in Washington.<\/p>\n
