The sanctions will be imposed on 193 organizations and individuals involved in helping Moscow procure weapons and abduct Ukrainian children.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This information was reported in a report by the news agency Reuters on Wednesday (February 21).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to reports, EU members have approved sanctions against Russia. Under this, sanctions will be imposed against about 200 individuals and institutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">EU ambassadors have agreed in principle to approve the 13th sanctions package under the framework of Russia&#8217;s aggression in Ukraine, Belgium&#8217;s current president said on social media.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">EU diplomatic sources said the new sanctions will join the list of 193 individuals and organizations banned from working or traveling to EU countries. These individuals and organizations cannot travel or conduct business activities in the European Union.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The new list of sanctions has been drawn up targeting various institutions of the Russian military and defense forces and those involved in the abduction or trafficking of children in Ukraine. The list includes one institution each from North Korea and Belarus.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Earlier, International Criminal Court (ICC) chief counsel in March last year said that Russia had removed hundreds of orphaned children from orphanages and care homes in the occupied territories of Ukraine. Many have also been adopted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The ICC is accusing Russian President Vladimir Putin of abducting Ukrainian children. They are also referring to this as a war crime. However, Moscow has been denying this allegation. They claim that they have been removed from the battlefield to keep them safe. On the other hand, Ukraine claims that Russia has evacuated more than 4,000 children.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The report also said that Russia&#8217;s military purchases and sales, especially the supply network of raw materials for the manufacture of drones, are being monitored. Already, 27 companies have been added under the Annex-4 ban. No European company can sell second-hand products to these companies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Three Chinese and one Hong Kong-based company are on the sanctions list, the source said. Besides, almost all are Russian companies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The sanctions package will be formally approved next Saturday (February 24), in time for the second anniversary of Russia&#8217;s invasion of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition, the EU ambassadors have also renewed the sanctions that are currently in place on about 2,000 individuals and companies in Russia for another six months.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>International Desk: European Union (EU) member countries have approved the measures to impose the 13th package of sanctions on Russia due to its aggression in Ukraine.
