As the judge was on vacation on that day, acting judge Aktaruzzaman set March 13 as the day to announce the verdict.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Earlier, on January 25, Dhaka Special Sessions Judge Mohammad Ali Hossain fixed February 8 as the date for the verdict after presenting the arguments of the state and the accused. As the verdict was not ready on this day (February 8), the judge postponed the verdict to February 20.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sagira Morshed was shot dead on July 25, 1989. Maruf Reza and Anas Mahmud were accused in the case filed by Sagira&#8217;s husband.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On January 16, 2020, the investigating officer of the case, Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) inspector Rafiqul Islam, filed a charge sheet against four people in court.<br \/>\nThe investigation officer mentioned in the charge sheet that accused Shaheen had a rift with Sagira Morshed&#8217;s family. Besides, her mother-in-law disliked Sagira, and there was a conflict between Sagira and Shaheen over educational qualifications. There was also a family conflict over addressing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is also said in the charge sheet that the accused, Dr. Sagira&#8217;s maid, was beaten. Hasan Ali Chowdhury. Shaheen threatened to see Sagira in the family meeting about this. The accused planned to kill Sagira at their house. Dr., according to plan. Hasan Ali made a contract to kill another accused, Maruf Reza, in his chamber for 25 thousand taka. Hasan Ali gave Maruf Reza 15 thousand taka out of the agreed 25 thousand taka. He promised to pay Tk 10,000 later but did not pay.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On December 2, 2021, Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Kayesh&#8217;s court framed charges against four people, including Sagira Morsheder Vasur. Through this, after 31 long years, the official trial of this case started. Then, on January 11, last year, Abdus Salam Chowdhury, the plaintiff in the case and Sagira Morshed&#8217;s husband, testified in court. Through this, the testimony of the case began.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The defendants in the case are Dr. Vasur, the deceased. Hasan Ali Chowdhury and his wife Syedatul Mahmuda alias Shaheen, brother-in-law Anas Mahmud alias Rezwan, and Maruf Reza.
