Although the situation has calmed down, the shelling has been going on across the border for the past two days. The sound of the fire is coming from the other side. In such an incident, there is a fear of Rohingya infiltration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On Friday (February 16) night and Saturday morning, in Myanmar Rakhine state, Maungdoo city and surrounding areas, due to this conflict, the sound of gunfire was heard in Teknaf&#8217;s Shahpari Island-Hnila and Hoikyong areas, locals said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, many residents of Rakhine State have taken refuge in small boats on the Naf River along the border amid ongoing fighting between the Myanmar army and the armed Arakan Army group. Lieutenant Tahsin Rahman, spokesperson for the Coast Guard of Teknaf Upazila in Cox&#8217;s Bazar, said that it is not known how many citizens of Myanmar are in the river that flows between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Locals said that they heard the sound of gunfire from the Rakhine state in Myanmar and the sound of gunfire from Shahpari Island, Hoaikung, and the Hnila border in Teknaf. However, no gunshots were heard in the morning.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, in Rakhine, there are clashes in Megichong, Kadirbil, Nurullahpara, Mangala, Fadongcha, and Nafpura areas around Maungdoo city. He said that Rohingyas may infiltrate again in such an incident.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Teknaf Battalion (2nd BGB) captain Lt. Col. Mohiuddin Ahmed said, due to internal problems in Myanmar, there are reports of intermittent firing between the two groups, and the BGB is on maximum alert, including strengthening border patrols to prevent Rohingya infiltration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Teknaf Upazila Executive Officer (UNO). Adnan Chowdhury said that due to the conflict situation in Myanmar, the patrols of the BGB and Coast Guard had to be increased.
