Various government and non-governmental organizations are publishing their own statistics. Almost all of these statistics are taken from secondary data. But real and accurate statistics are not available. The disclosure of such information confuses the nation. But all organizations think their statistics are correct. So from now on, the Safe Road Movement will no longer publish any information on road accident statistics. We don&#8217;t want to mislead the nation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Ilyas Kanchan said, &#8220;I demand from the government to form a strong monitoring cell consisting of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Ministry of Road Transport to highlight the real statistics of road accidents. No organization&#8217;s statistics show the number of people injured in accidents and hospitalized. Many people were injured in road accidents, and many died while undergoing treatment. If someone dies within 30 days, the data will be considered a road accident death. But in our country, the police do not mention such deaths. These are the reasons why data in statistics is inaccurate. Actual casualties are not available.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Elias Kanchan, referring to the failure of statistical data, said that in the &#8216;Global Status Report on Road Safety 2023&#8217; published by the World Health Organization in 2015, according to the World Health Organization, 21 thousand 316 people died in road accidents in Bangladesh. However, according to the police report, only 2 thousand 376 people died at that time. According to the BRTA data of the government institution Bangladesh Road Transport Authority, 5 thousand 24 people died in 5 thousand 495 road accidents in 2023. According to the police report, 4 thousand 475 people died in 5 thousand 93 road accidents that year. But the statistical information of the other two organizations is much more than this.
