Tourism officials said that tourists are coming less to Cox’s Bazar due to the excessive winter.<\/p>\n

Generally, Cox’s Bazar is one of the tourist destinations for winter. But, due to the cold flow or excessive winter in other parts of the country, including the northern part of the country, more people have gone indoors. Most people are not interested in going out of the house or going for a walk. As a result, it has adversely affected various tourist spots, including Cox’s Bazar.<\/p>\n

Rashed-un-Nabi, an old businessman from the Kalatali beach area of Cox’s Bazar, said, “I have been selling oyster jewelry for 30 years. Even though there are many crises throughout the year, I hope for good business in the winter season. But that hope has not been fulfilled so far this winter season. In previous years, Cox’s Bazar had no place to step during the winter season. But this time, there are fewer tourists. As a result, our business is also not doing well. However, I am not giving up hope. Tourists will come when winter subsides. I am expecting that our business will be good.<\/p>\n

Jasim Uddin Shubo, the owner of Saint Martin Beach Eco Resort, said, “Two tourist ships arrive in Saint Martin from Chittagong, one from Cox’s Bazar city, and seven from Teknaf Ghat.” Earlier, even if 500 people came on these ships, 5 thousand tourists were on the island of St. Martin. But nowadays, there are fewer tourists than before, even though 10 ships come to the island every day. Business as usual is no longer on the island of St. Martin. Business has declined due to a lack of expected tourists. We hope that the tourism sector will overcome this crisis quickly.<\/p>\n

Abul Kashem Sikder, president of Cox’s Bazar Hotel-Motel-Guest House Owners Association, said, “About 85 percent of the rooms have been booked in more than five hundred hotels and motels in Cox’s Bazar.” At present, lakhs of tourists are staying in the district. Tourists are not leaving their homes due to the winter in the northern districts. Besides, people are a little rested in the post-election period. Many tourists will come to Cox’s Bazar after the winter. There are various facilities for them.<\/p>\n

The Executive Magistrate of Tourism Cell of Cox’s Bazar District Administration, Mohammad Masud Rana, said, “Cox’s Bazar is not under the pressure of tourists like before. There are relatively few tourists. 70 to 80 percent of rooms are booked in hotels and motels. However, the number of tourists may increase in the future. The district administration has various facilities for the tourists who have come to visit Cox’s Bazar. Our mobile number is provided at each point. Appropriate action will be taken if any tourist or visitor is harassed by complaining to us. We have staff at the beach. They are providing various instructions and information services to the tourists during the tides of the sea.<\/p>\n

In the last few days, some districts of the country have received cold currents and rains. Although there was a chance of rain in Cox’s Bazar, it did not rain. Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Office said that later the weather turned favorable.<\/p>\n

Abdul Hannan, assistant meteorologist of Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Office, said, ‘Since Friday (January 19), the severity of winter is not so severe in Cox’s Bazar. The temperature has been above 15 degrees since yesterday. There was isolated rain across the country. Although there was a chance of rain in Cox’s Bazar, it did not rain as the weather was favorable.
