He said, I don&#8217;t think there is any syndicate in the country. I am not familiar with the term syndicate. However, some unscrupulous traders make excessive profits by stocking various products in the pursuit of high profits. It increases the suffering of common people. Do whatever it takes to stop it. Action will be taken if any manipulation creates instability in the market.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">He said this during an exchange of views with journalists on the first working day of the Ministry of Commerce at the Secretariat on Sunday (January 14). Before this, he exchanged views with senior officials of various departments of the Ministry of Commerce. Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Chairman of TCB, and senior officials of the Ministry of Commerce were present at this time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The state minister for commerce said that keeping the prices of daily necessities under control is our biggest challenge. The Prime Minister has already announced &#8216;zero tolerance&#8217; in this regard. Our ministry will take all necessary measures with the cooperation of all. No one will be exempted if there is any deviation in this regard. All kinds of facilities will be given to those who do business according to the rules. Action will be taken against whoever increases the suffering of the people by adopting dishonest methods.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">He said we want to make daily essential products easily available. So that everyone can afford it. We want to introduce &#8216;Smart Market System&#8217; this year. So that there is no interference between producer and consumer and importer and consumer. As you know, many products depend on the international market. Our work is done with 100% transparency. And we will do that, I can assure you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">In response to the question of when TCB will give smart cards to one crore families, he said that the information of one crore families of TCB has been taken and is being verified. Cards are being issued to those who have been verified. Hopefully, I can give out the card by June. The activities will not stop there. I will assume that the list is there now.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">State Minister Titu said that those who interfere in the market, from producers to importers to consumers, will take the maximum action against them. Action will be taken against those who create artificial crises by hoarding. However, I will support those who do business well. I want to work with their trust.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">We have to import products from India; negotiations are going on with them. We are saying that it will be a little easier to import the products that come from India, starting with onions, for our convenience. At the same time, we will work to improve relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">When asked what action would be taken against the syndicate, the Minister of State for Commerce said, I am not used to the word syndicate. No syndicate can exist in the country. I have worked with capital markets. Then no syndicate or hoarder could do any manipulation. Here too, we will succeed. Traders must operate with transparency and accountability. We have ample opportunities. I will request them, and I will sit with them. We will tell them that if they do business with transparency and accountability, we will support them. But attempts to embarrass the government through any kind of manipulation will be strongly resisted. In this regard, I expect the help of journalists. Because you are our eyes and ears.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">He said, I will work for the public interest, not to protect the interests of any businessman. The Prime Minister has done the work with responsibility. I will do my best to do that. Consumer assurance: give me some time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">In response to a question about commodity price control, the Minister of State for Commerce said, We want to control commodity prices through fair market management. All those who do business in this country are patriots. We believe they will work for the welfare of the people. It will be our responsibility to bring them into transparency and accountability. Especially those who work with our everyday products. We will ensure that those who work with such products\u2014oil, sugar, and salt\u2014work with transparency and accountability.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Ahsanul Islam Titu said we are self-sufficient in agriculture. We have achieved unprecedented success in agriculture. We have no shortage of rice, vegetables, fish, eggs, or chicken. But smart market management in Bangladesh wants to do smart market management. Want to reduce delivery time from producer or importer to consumer level? If the supply is good, then no one will have a chance to manipulate the market, and no one will have a chance to sell at high prices.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">He said we want to diversify exports as per the instructions of the Prime Minister. We are very dependent on garments. The Prime Minister yesterday directed us to provide similar facilities to the leather and jute industries as in garments. Our value addition is very high there.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">The state minister said that the Ministry of Commerce neither produces nor imports anything. It is our job to ensure that the consumer gets the maximum benefit by operating the market system properly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said that if anyone tries to manipulate, we will suppress it with strong hands. Especially hoarding. We see, Ramadan is really some businessmen\u2014I will not say businessmen\u2014some of their unscrupulous groups. They are doing these crimes in the name of business. We will suppress hoarding with a strong hand.
