Banks are also suffering from liquidity crises during bank closings or the annual accounts of banks in December. In these 4 months, from July to October of the current financial year, the deposit flow has increased in the banks. Still, the average liquidity of banks has decreased by 18 thousand crores. To meet this crisis, the central bank is borrowing heavily from the money market. These data were obtained from the Central Bank report.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">According to sources, the liquidity crisis in banks has increased mainly due to four reasons. These include credit flow increasing more than deposit growth, the central bank buying dollars in cash to deal with the crisis, money being stuck in the central bank, disbursed loans not being collected, and defaulted loans increasing. The money of the banks is stuck in those sectors. As a result, there is a problem with providing money while disbursing the loan. It is also struggling to meet the needs of customers. The current account deficit of the commercial banks with the central bank has also appeared.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">According to the information obtained from the report of the central bank, the total liquidity in the banks was Tk 4 lakh, 38 thousand, 491 crores in July. In August, it decreased to Tk 4 lakh, 37 thousand, 791 crore. In September, it further decreased to Tk 4 lakh, 28 thousand, 581 crore. In October, it further decreased to 4 lakh, 21 thousand, 713 crores. In these 4 months, from July to October, liquidity has decreased by Tk 18 thousand crores. Meanwhile, compared to June last year, liquidity has decreased by Tk 20 thousand crores. In June last year, liquidity in banks was Tk 4 lakh 42 thousand crores.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">In the first 4 months of the current financial year, the deposit flow in banks has increased by about Tk 42 thousand crores. 19 thousand crores increased in the same period of the last financial year. The tendency of customers to withdraw money from banks has also decreased. Withdrawals rose 24 percent in June. It fell to 4 percent in October. Due to these reasons, the flow of money to the bank should increase.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Besides, every year at the end of December, the deposit flow increases during the annual accounting of the bank. Banks have excess liquidity. Due to this, the interest rate of Kalmani at this time comes down to a minimum of 1 to 2 percent. But now the opposite is happening. Banks are supporting the money market due to the money crisis. Short-term and long-term loans are not available here. If you don&#8217;t get it, the central bank borrows it. In this process, an average of 18 to 26 thousand crore rupees is borrowed every day. Although this type of borrowing and lending is a regular occurrence in the banking system, economists are not looking at the way it is increasing. They think that the money that the bank is disbursing as loans is not coming back. Even interest money is not coming. On the contrary, due to default, more money is being held up while keeping provisions against it. Because of this, there is a liquidity crisis in banks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">In this context, the former governor of the central bank. Salehuddin Ahmed said that the banking liquidity crisis did not happen in one day. Due to the long-running looting, the money that has gone out of the bank is not coming back. Provisions have to be kept against defaulted loans. Besides, many people are not keeping money in banks due to high inflation and a crisis of confidence. One class is smuggling money abroad. Banks are also not able to manage liquidity well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">According to sources, the dollar crisis occurred in the banks in July last year. It increases at the end of the year. At the beginning of this year, this crisis became evident. At this time, the banks bought dollars from the central bank and converted them into cash to settle the debts of the LC. The central bank sold $1,358 million to commercial banks in the last financial year. Against this, about one and a half lakh crore goes to the central bank. It has sold around $7 billion until Wednesday of the current fiscal year. Against this, about 77 thousand crores went to the central bank. Due to these reasons, the liquidity crisis at banks has increased.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Deposit flow in banks increased by 9.79 percent in July\u2013October of the current financial year. On the contrary, loan flow increased by 12.19 percent.
