In this regard, following the good examples of other countries of the world, the cooperation of all relevant ministries, departments, public and private institutions, domestic and international organizations will be taken. Bangladesh government has taken all possible measures for infrastructure development in the country. Considering the logistics sector as an important component of infrastructural development, the Ministry of Industries has included it in the National Industrial Policy-2022 as a priority sector for export diversification. At the same time, 22 sub-sectors of logistics have also been included in the National Industrial Policy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said this while addressing the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the workshop titled &#8220;Formulating National Logistics Industries Development Policy for Bangladesh: Experience from Global Good Practices&#8221; organized at Hotel Inter-Continental in the capital today. The two-day workshop has been organized in collaboration with the World Bank Group and Business Initiative Leading Development (BILD) on the initiative of the Ministry of Industry. Under the chairmanship of Build Chairperson Miz Nihad Kabir, State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder MP, Senior Secretary of Prime Minister&#8217;s Office Md. Tofajzel Hossain Mia, FBCCI President Md. Jasim Uddin, Industry Secretary Zakia Sultana, World Bank South Asia Regional Practice Manager Dr. Soumik Raj Mehndirat. Besides, senior government officials and World Bank representatives were present.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Industries Minister said that Bangladesh is moving forward rapidly under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the privileged daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Per capita income has increased to 2 thousand 824 US dollars. This achievement has been possible thanks to the digital revolution and development initiatives in the infrastructure sector. Private sector contribution has also helped in this regard. Bangladesh will soon transition to a developing country. As a result, it is necessary to reduce costs in the logistics sector in order to survive in the competition. There is a road transport system in Bangladesh. However, as a large delta country, Bangladesh has not been able to fully utilize the benefits of the waterway-centric transportation system. The situation is the same in the railway sector. In the development of the logistics sector of Bangladesh, by improving the business environment, production and trade at the local level should be accelerated by all means for economic growth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking as a special guest, State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder MP welcomed the initiative of the Ministry of Industry, BILD and the World Bank to jointly organize a workshop on formulation of National Logistics Development Policy for Bangladesh. The initiative will help formulate a constructive national logistics policy based on international experience and feedback from expert discussions.
