Dhaka Bureau:<\/strong> Bank and stock market transactions will be closed on Sunday (December 31), the last day of the year, on the occasion of the bank holiday. However, the main offices and important branches of all banks, including banks, will remain open to reconcile their financial accounts. Even if the bank is closed, customers can withdraw money through the card within the limit.<\/p>\n

As per the policy, no transactions or official activities are conducted with customers at Bangladesh Bank or other banks during ‘Bank Holiday’. 31st December and 1st July are observed as ‘Bank Holiday’.<\/p>\n

It is known that on December 31, the banks complete the financial accounts of the calendar year. On this day, the annual financial report is prepared by combining the accounts sent from various branches. That is why this day is considered as a ‘bank holiday’. Even if the bank is open on that day, no transaction is done. However, customers can withdraw money within the limit through the card.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, since the share market shares are traded through banks, there are no transactions in Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) when banks are closed.
