Prakash Raj made his big-screen debut in 1988 through a Kannada-language film. The multi-time National Film Award-winning actor has acted in numerous films in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and English. But in his career, he acted in some movies just for money. The actor made this comment in an interview given to Film Companion.<\/p>\n

Prakash Raj said, \u201cI have done some films for money. They ask me, ‘Why are you in such a hurry?’ I reply, ‘If I can overact, I can act.’ I don’t hate commercial movies. Because there is an audience for this movie and a director, the same labor has to be given to this work. And that’s where I’m needed as a villain.”<\/p>\n

Apart from remuneration, Prakash Raj has acted in some movies. Telling this, the actor said, \u201cMy intelligence says, ‘Prakash, why are you acting like a fool?’ I say, ‘I need some money; I will do that.’ Sometimes people say, ‘Why did you make that movie without money?’ But I don’t. I live by my own will.”<\/p>\n

Prakash Raj was born and raised in Bangalore, India. He spent time at Bangalore’s cultural center, Ravindra Kalakshetra. Later, he started working on television. Earlier in an interview, Prakash Raj said, ‘This period of theater was my golden age. I never wanted to be in films. I believe films are commercial but not creative. Honestly, I wanted to live in the theater. But it didn’t happen, but slowly I got connected with television.
