More than 150 countries, including Bangladesh, voted in favor of this resolution passed by the organization&#8217;s general assembly. The resolution was passed by an absolute majority in the UN General Assembly before 4 a.m. Bangladesh time on Wednesday. News: CNN and Al Jazeera.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Mauritania and Egypt made the motion to call for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza. 153 countries, including Bangladesh and India, voted in favor of the resolution. However, 10 countries, including the United States and Israel, voted against it. And 23 countries abstained from voting. The United Arab Emirates presented a resolution to the United Nations Security Council last Friday calling for an end to Israel&#8217;s ongoing brutal attacks on the Palestinian Gaza Strip. The United States, a permanent member of the Security Council, vetoed the proposal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Saudi Arabia&#8217;s ambassador to the United Nations, Abdulaziz Alwasil, said in a statement after Tuesday&#8217;s vote, &#8220;We thank all those who supported this draft resolution, which was just adopted by a large majority.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">It should be noted that Israel has been attacking Gaza for more than two months.
