{"id":11028,"date":"2023-12-08T12:35:26","date_gmt":"2023-12-08T12:35:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/?p=11028"},"modified":"2023-12-08T12:35:26","modified_gmt":"2023-12-08T12:35:26","slug":"the-ec-assures-100-justice-in-candidates-appeals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thecrimebd.net\/english\/news\/11028\/","title":{"rendered":"The EC assures 100% justice in candidates&#8217; appeals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\"><strong>Dhaka Bureau:<\/strong> The Election Commission (EC) has said that those who are appealing against the decision of the Returning Officer in the 12th National Assembly elections will get 100% justice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">EC Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath said this to reporters on the fourth day of the appeal process at the election building premises of Agargaon in the capital on Friday, December 8.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">When asked if the commission would consider applying to get back the candidates after resolving the minor mistakes, he said the commission must decide on their appeals with justice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Some appeals have been filed challenging the validity of the nomination. He said about them that surely a decision will be taken about them. This time, the RPO has been revised. Earlier, there was an appeal against rejection by the returning officer. In the RPO, not only the rejection of the returning officer but also the decision of the returning officer can be appealed. There will be an appeal against the acceptance, and there will be an appeal against the rejection. As per law, the commission will make the appropriate decision.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">In response to the question of what would be the decision of those who could not submit their nominations, the Additional Secretary of the EC said that those who could not submit their nominations after appearing on time went to the High Court.
