Brahmanbaria Representative:<\/strong> Law Minister Anisul Haque has built a mountain of wealth. The minister’s cash has increased 218 times in the last ten years. In the affidavit for the election of the 10th National Assembly, he mentioned that he has 5 lakhs in cash with him. He mentioned that the affidavit of the 12th National Assembly election has 10 crore, 92 lakh, 94 thousand, and 199 taka in cash, which is 218 times more than 10 years ago.<\/p>\n

Not only cash, but this time house rent has been added as a new source of income. Besides, the amount of money deposited in banks and financial institutions has also increased by 2 crore, 54 lakh, 60 thousand, and 787 taka in a span of 10 years.<\/p>\n

Anisul Haque is a lawyer by profession. He is the president of the Kasba Upazila Awami League of Brahmanbaria. In 2014, he was elected Member of Parliament for Brahmanbaria-4 (Kasba-Akhaura) Constituency for the first time in the 10th National Parliament Elections on the nomination of the Awami League. His father, the late Advocate Sirajul Haque, was also a Member of Parliament. Anisul Haque will be elected from Brahmanbaria-4 (Kasba-Akhaura) constituency in the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections. He has submitted an affidavit to the Election Commission for this.<\/p>\n

According to the information given in the affidavit before the Election Commission, Anisul Haque cited agriculture (fishery), house rent, shares, savings certificates, bank deposits in the mother’s name, ministerial allowance, and interest from Bank FDR as sources of income.<\/p>\n

Out of this, 43 lakh taka per year from the agriculture and fishery sectors, house rent of 5 lakh 24 thousand 579 taka, allowance as minister of 12 lakh 60 thousand taka, and bank and FDR interest of 43 lakh 45 thousand 348 taka. The law minister earned Tk 1 lakh, 65 thousand,600 from shares, savings certificates, and bank deposits in the name of his late mother. In the affidavit, the minister has shown cash of Tk 10 crore, 92 lakh, 94 thousand, and 199 as movable assets. In addition, he has 14 thousand 93 dollars in US currency, which is 1.5 lakh taka in Bangladeshi currency.<\/p>\n

After being elected as a member of Parliament for the second time in 2018, Anisul Haque got the responsibility of Law Minister for the second consecutive term. In the last five years of the ministry, the minister has owned shares worth Tk 40 crore and 10 lakh in Citizen Bank and Exim Bangladesh. Apart from this, the Minister has investments of Tk 5 crore, 79 lakh, 24 thousand, 898 in fixed deposits, and he has 4 vehicles. And there are 20 gold ornaments.<\/p>\n

Anisul Haque’s immovable assets include 8 bigha of agricultural land in his own name, which is worth Tk 16 lakh. He also mentioned the same amount of agricultural land in the affidavits of the 10th and 11th National Parliament elections. He has a plot in the eastern part of the capital, the price of which is 25 lakh 51 thousand 858 taka. Apart from this, there is a house in Banani worth Tk 45 lakh and two flats worth Tk 2 crore 55 lakh.
