Once again, specific instructions have been given to occupy Karnaphuli and evacuate all illegal establishments, including the fish market.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">A bench of Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan, Justice Borhanuddin, Justice M Anayetur Rahim, Justice Mohammad Ashfaqul Islam, Justice Mohammad Abu Zafar Siddiqui, and Justice Jahangir Hossain was a specific bench of the ongoing case (Civil Petition 1010\/2023) filed by the National Fishermen Cooperative Society in the High Court on Monday. I mentioned it and ordered a quick settlement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">In this regard, the senior lawyer of the Supreme Court, Manzil Morshed, said that in the case filed by my organization in 2010 for the eviction of illegal structures in Karnaphuli, the High Court ordered the eviction of 2181 illegal structures in 2016. Opponents appealed and lost the final verdict in the Supreme Court in May 2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">He also said that the district administration is wasting time by filing cases one by one for not evicting the illegal structures at the right time. Karnaphuli is losing its normal flow day by day due to encroachment and pollution. In March 2023, after losing the case in the High Court (720\/21), an organization named Jatiya Matsyajeevi Sambaya filed another case and took a stay order. We have today received specific directions for expeditious disposal of the case newly filed in the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court. He expressed hope that the ongoing case would be settled within the next month.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525; text-align: justify;\">Advocate Saifuzamman DIG appeared for the government in the case. The opponent was advocate Syed Ahmed Raza.
