Cox’s Bazar Correspondent:<\/strong> Salah Uddin Ahmed’s nomination of the Awami League-nominated boat symbol candidate for Cox’s Bazar-1 (Chakria-Pekua) seat in the 12th National Parliament Election has been cancelled. District Returning Officer and District Commissioner Muhammad Shaheen Imran canceled his nomination paper on the grounds of defaulting on the loan on Sunday (December 3) morning.<\/p>\n

District Returning Officer’s office sources said that the nomination of Salah Uddin Ahmed was canceled due to the default of 47 crore rupees. He and other directors took a loan of about half a hundred crore rupees from Janata Bank against a business called ‘Fee Preservers’, which later defaulted. After that, the board of directors of the company changed, but according to the terms of the bank, Salah Uddin Ahmed is still a guarantor of the loan.<\/p>\n

District Returning Officer and District Commissioner Muhammad Shaheen Imran said that Salah Uddin Ahmad was a defaulter according to the Credit Information Bureau (CIB) report of Bangladesh Bank, even on the day of submission of nomination papers on November 30. Therefore, his nomination paper cannot be said to be valid according to the law.<\/p>\n

Boat candidate Salah Uddin Ahmad said I was a guarantor of some loans, which later defaulted. But I was released from bail by the court. All the documents are given along with the nomination form. Still, I don’t understand why the district returning officer canceled the nomination. I will appeal to the Election Commission.
