A total of 8 cases have been filed against Muhammad Yunus in the Third Labor Court of Dhaka by 7 former officials and one employee of Grameen Telecom. In view of this, the court has directed the defendants to file their reply by January 15.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Last Wednesday (November 9) according to the labor law, the company&#8217;s 5 percent dividend was demanded by the chairman of Grameen Telecom Limited. The cases were filed in the Labor Court against Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Managing Director Ashraful Hasan and Grameen Telecom Limited.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Barrister HM Sanjid Siddiqui, the lawyer for the plaintiff, confirmed the matter and said that the fund has been set up within a month of the law being enacted. Share of the company&#8217;s net profit shall be distributed to the contribution fund and labor welfare fund for four financial years during employment. But they didn&#8217;t do that.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hence a third case was filed in the Labor Court. In the past 2006-2007, 2028 and 2009, on behalf of 8 officers and employees, Grameen Telecom Limited, Chairman\u00a0 A case has been filed in the Third Labor Court against Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Managing Director Ashraful Hasan. Now they will file their reply.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He also said that those 8 officers and employees were working in Grameen Telecom from 1998 to 2009. They were deprived of the company&#8217;s dividend in the financial year 2006-2009. According to the Labor Act, 5 percent of the company&#8217;s dividend shall be paid to the workers&#8217; welfare fund from the date the Labor Act comes into effect.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">First they sent a legal notice to Grameen Telecom due to not getting this dividend. But after giving legal notice, no action was taken, on November 9, he filed 8 separate cases under Section 213 of the Labor Act in the Third Labor Court of Dhaka.
