Like other countries of the world, the day is being celebrated in Bangladesh with various events. Like all over the world, the prevalence of diabetes is very high in Bangladesh. The prevalence of diabetes is increasing day by day due to urbanization and drastic changes in lifestyle and diet and lack of physical activity. This year&#8217;s theme of World Diabetes Day is &#8216;Know Diabetes to Protect Yourself in the Future&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Diabetes is the mother of all diseases. 1 crore 3 million people are suffering from diabetes in the country. Children are also affected. Diabetes is a lifelong disease. Once it never goes away. But it is preventable and controllable. Knowing about diabetes can prevent and control it. That&#8217;s why both people with and without diabetes need to know ways to prevent and control diabetes and take steps to protect themselves. Expert doctors say that diabetes can be healthy if you follow the rules, but if you don&#8217;t follow the rules, it is fatal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to experts, eating too much fast food and fatty food, not doing physical activity, not exercising regularly, after the first page than usual.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Excess weight gain can lead to diabetes. So if those who do not have diabetes know these things then they can be aware and protect themselves. On the other hand, those who have diabetes also need to know about diabetes control methods. Uncontrolled diabetes carries serious and life-threatening risks such as heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, blindness and amputation. Therefore, if they know the methods of controlling diabetes (such as regular exercise, eating a balanced diet, taking regular medicines and insulin as prescribed by the doctor, leading a disciplined life) then they can protect themselves from the complications of diabetes by controlling diabetes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Diabetes has become an epidemic all over the world. Diabetes is a serious and life-threatening disease that can have a huge impact on individuals and their families, as well as health systems and national economies. The IDF Diabetes Atlas, the latest statistics and data on the global impact of diabetes, shows that 53.7 million people were affected by diabetes in 2021. The number of people with diabetes is expected to reach 64.3 crore by 2030 (one in 10) and 78.3 crore by 2045. 240 million people with diabetes (one in two people) do not know they have diabetes. Most of them suffer from type-2 diabetes. More than three out of four people with diabetes live in low- and middle-income countries. About 20 million women (one in six) develop hyperglycemia (high blood glucose) during pregnancy Two-thirds of people with diabetes live in urban areas More than 1.2 million children and adolescents (0-19 years) have type-1 diabetes. In 2021, 6.7 million people died due to diabetes in the world. Diabetes cost $966 billion in 2021, accounting for 9% of total global health spending.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The founder of Bangladesh Diabetic Association, National Professor Dr. Md. The association has been conducting various activities to make people aware of the prevention and control of diabetes by keeping the principle of Ibrahim&#8217;s words &#8216;We are grateful for giving us the opportunity to serve&#8217;. Both people with and without diabetes need to know about diabetes and protect themselves by preventing and controlling diabetes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina&#8217;s personal physician Dr. ABM Abdullah said that diabetes is the &#8216;mother&#8217; of all diseases. But it is possible to get rid of diabetes if you are health conscious. People with diabetes also need to know about diabetes control methods. Uncontrolled diabetes carries serious and life-threatening risks such as heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, blindness and amputation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">National Professor AK Azad Khan, President of Bangladesh Diabetic Association said, if you follow the rules, you can stay healthy even if you have diabetes, and if you don&#8217;t follow the rules, it is fatal. He advised everyone to follow the rules.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Speeches of the President and Prime Minister<\/strong><br \/>\nThe President gave a separate message on the occasion of World Diabetes Day. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In the speech, the President called upon all concerned to come forward to create public awareness for the prevention and control of diabetes, saying that diabetes is a non-communicable disease. Diabetes is considered as the mother of all diseases worldwide. Due to diabetes, heart disease, brain hemorrhage and various diseases of kidney and eye are taking root in the human body. Due to insufficient knowledge about diabetes prevention and control, the prevalence of diabetes is increasing all over the world including Bangladesh.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the speech, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her hope that we will build a hunger-free, poverty-free &#8216;golden Bangladesh&#8217; by creating a healthy nation by preventing and controlling diabetes through the collective efforts of all. Sheikh Hasina said, following the footsteps of the father of the nation, the government is taking and implementing massive development programs in the health sector in the last 13 and a half years to deliver healthcare to the doorsteps of the people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, on the occasion of World Diabetes Day, Bangladesh Diabetic Association has organized a discussion meeting at 3 pm today. Planning Minister MA Mannan will be the chief guest.
