Own Correspondent: BNP-Jamaat Ahut Hartal on Sunday, October 29, did not affect Lohagara in South Chittagong. But no long-distance bus came to Lohagara. I didn’t even leave Lohagara. As a result, the Lohagara area was very empty.
Other public transport vehicles have moved normally on almost all roads in Lohagara upazila. Due to the non-availability of long-distance buses, many passengers have to suffer. There was no march meeting in the area in support of the strike. Party leaders and workers of BNP-Jamaat were not seen. An anti-hartal rally was organized by the Jubo League.
Government and private offices were open. But attendance in many offices was low. Offices are operating as usual. The traffic for common people was less. Upazila commercial bank branches were open.
The Lohagara Police Station was active in protecting the lives and property of the area. There was no news of any untoward incident anywhere in the upazila.
