Dhaka Bureau: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal commented that the expected favorable environment for the elections has not yet been created.

He made this comment at a workshop organized for media editors at the election building on Thursday (October 26).

Kazi Habibul Awal said, We invited all the parties to come for dialogue and elections, but many did not respond. Political parties may have their own strategies. We will not practice injustice in it.

The Chief Election Commissioner said we are very sincere in solving any crisis. We hope to organize the election as the host. Although expectations were there from the beginning, the favorable environment did not materialize.

CEC said that our concern is that the environment becomes favorable. For this reason, I have been constantly calling for dialogue. For those who do not want to come, I have given a semi-official letter on my behalf. But I didn’t get a response.

He also said that the political strategy of the political parties is their own matter. They may have their own strategies. We will not practice injustice in it.

The workshop was attended by other election commissioners, EC senior officials, the editor of The Daily Star Mahfuz Anam, the editor of Bangladesh Pratidin Naeem Nizam, and others, along with the CEC.
