DHAKA BUREAU: Minister for Health and Family Welfare Zahid Malek, MP, said that the MRCP (UK)-PACES exam, which is highly prestigious for doctors worldwide, will be conducted in Bangladesh. MRCP is of great importance in clinical trials. Around 1000 candidates from Bangladesh are currently waiting to take part in this exam. Every year, doctors from Bangladesh apply to take part in this exam, but the chances are very low. Currently, India and Singapore are the nearest countries for Bangladesh to participate in this exam. Besides, there are MRCP-PACES examination centers in Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Egypt, Malaysia, and other countries near Bangladesh where they can be participated in. But the exams in these countries are expensive as well as difficult to participate in. For this reason, doctors in the country will greatly benefit from this test.

Health Minister Zahid Malek, MP, said these things in the president’s speech at a meeting regarding taking the MRCP (UK) Part-2 (PACES) examination in Bangladesh in the meeting room of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare at the Secretariat today.

Regarding the financial expenses of the candidates who participated in the examination, the health minister said, ‘Each candidate has to spend 2–3 lakhs to participate in these examinations. If it is organized in Bangladesh, Bangladesh will benefit financially from the country’s candidates as well as foreign students.

Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) president Dr. Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin, Prime Minister’s personal physician Dr. ABM Abdullah, Director General of Health Education Directorate Professor Dr. Md. Tito Mia, Pediatrician Professor Dr. Shahidullah, and other important people Prof. Kazi Tariqul Islam, Overseas Regional Advisor of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, presented the main article in the meeting.
