Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called on world leaders to end the scourge of war and free women and children from the disaster. He said this on Tuesday (October 17) at the inaugural rally of Jayita at Ganobhaban in the capital. Earlier, he inaugurated Jayita Tower at 10 a.m. Bangabandhu’s younger daughter and the Prime Minister’s younger sister, Sheikh Rehana, were with him.

At this time, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina unveiled the cover of the book entitled ‘Contribution of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to Economic Empowerment of Women’.

He said, ‘BNP torture, torture, and arson were carried out on our girls. The torture they did to our Jubo Mahila League girls, our Awami League girls, cannot be described in words. They were arrested, detained by the police station, and tortured in various ways. Our girls protested this. When our men could not take to the streets, our youth and Awami League women leaders bravely took to the streets. As a result, we have been able to bring back democracy.

The Prime Minister said, “The father of the nation believed that half of society is women; a society cannot be developed by neglecting them.” Women should not just say give us rights; women’s rights should be earned by women. Women’s rights should be earned on their own merits.
