Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Joyita Tower in Dhanmondi, the capital.
He inaugurated this tower on Tuesday (October 17) around 10 a.m. Apart from this, Bangabandhu’s daughter and current head of government will also inaugurate Jamdani Gallery and Jayita Market Place.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Jayita Tower has been constructed with state-of-the-art physical infrastructure facilities to ensure women’s economic empowerment by involving the country’s women entrepreneurs in various business ventures under the Jayita brand. Jayita Tower will have facilities for marketing various types of products, supply chains, and services produced and processed by women entrepreneurs in the country with universal accessibility.
The building provides physical infrastructural facilities for imparting knowledge, skills, business management, and development strategy-based training to women entrepreneurs. There are ample parking facilities and a spacious lobby. Besides, the building will house the headquarters of the Jayita Foundation.
Jayita Iconic Tower has a Child Day Care Center, a Design Center, a Beauty Parlor, a Gymnasium for Women, a Swimming Pool for Women and Children, a Multipurpose Hall, a Seminar Hall, a Bank, a Food Court, and a Cafe. The E-Joita-Joitae market has been launched.
On December 1, 2021, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina laid the foundation stone for the construction of the 12-story Joyita Tower, built at a cost of Tk 168.4 million on one bigha of land at No. 27 (Old) Road of Dhanmondi in the capital.
The Prime Minister inaugurated the Joyita Foundation program on November 16, 2011 with the aim of economic empowerment of women in Bangladesh. In the meantime, the government has allotted 1 bigha of land at a symbolic price to each section of the country. Initiatives have been taken to build a separate women-friendly marketing network across the country by launching Jayita’s activities in divisions, districts, and upazilas.
