Kushtia Correspondent: Municipal Mayor Anwarul Kabir Tutul organized a press conference at the Bheramara Municipal Office in Kushtia on Monday at 1 p.m. By building the long-awaited road of the people, we will build a traffic-free village, inshallah.
Bheramara Municipality Mayor Anwarul Kabir Tutul said in a written statement, “According to my election promise, I took the initiative to widen the road from Chandgram Municipality No. 3 Bridge to Hisna Bridge to alleviate the public suffering caused by the severe traffic congestion from Hisna Bridge to South Railgate in Bheramara Municipality area. We continue to communicate with the Bangladesh Railway Authority and related departments as per the rules. Since the initial consent of the Bangladesh Railway Authority for more than a year, we have exchanged views with the concerned businessmen, the Railbazar Merchants Association, political leaders, civil society, and other professional representatives and administrative officials for cooperation in the implementation of the mentioned road. In continuation of this, the railway authority provided a lease settlement of land (1 acre, 16th century) in favor of Bheramara municipality for road expansion. Senior responsible officials of Bangladesh Railway Western Region visited the proposed project area several times, exchanged views with the concerned businessmen, ensured proper arrangements for their rehabilitation, and called for them to move back the business establishments for the sake of road expansion.
During the said period, most of the businessmen removed the goods and furniture of their business establishments on their own initiative as per the instructions of the railway authorities. However, at the instigation of a vested interest identified in the area, a few shopkeepers started making various attempts to break their extended section. Basically, these few identified shopkeepers are creating negative propaganda, confusion, and obstacles in the public mind regarding road expansion. Recently, under the leadership of the divisional land property officer of the western region of Bangladesh Railway, he explained to the municipal authorities that the railway land was freed from the southern railway gate to the central Jame Masjid gate for the expansion of the said road.
I have been working relentlessly with 100% sincerity and faithfulness to ensure the resettlement of the evicted shopkeepers in the exempted areas so that they can move back and re-establish their shops smoothly, providing close communication and cooperation with the concerned shopkeepers along with the municipal councillors. I call on all concerned to concentrate on rebuilding their business organizations in unity without being confused by any kind of misinformation about the identified anti-development evil forces. By overcoming all kinds of provocations and oppositions, I will construct the long-awaited road of the people and build a traffic-free Bhermara, inshallah.
